ROAVVA · TRY THIS № 004 · EXPLORATION

Living in a city for years has a strange side effect: you start moving through it with tunnel vision. You see traffic lights, supermarket aisles, office buildings, and your front door. Everything in between turns into background blur.

Meanwhile, travelers fly thousands of kilometers to admire the very streets, colonial courtyards, open-air markets, and railway heritage you ignore on your morning commute.

Your challenge this weekend: Spend two hours looking at your city as if you just landed this morning with a carry-on bag.

Pick one historic site or neighborhood such as Old Nairobi railway quarters, the National Museum botanical gardens, or City Market. Walk slowly, look up at the building facades, read historical plaques, and notice the morning tempo.

When you stop treating your city as a commute, it turns back into a place of wonder.
